NYX - HD Studio Finishing Powder. Review & Swatches.

NYX - HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder.

Website: USAUK, Australia (Coming soon). This brand cannot be found in Argentina.

Weight: 0.21 oz. or 6 g. of product.

Review:
It comes in a transparent acrylic container with black plastic tap. A fine milled powder. It feels a bit dry but soft to the touch. This powder sets foundation and concealer (or any cream). Only a little bit is needed. It flashbacks if it's not brushed off enough (if you bake with it), and even without a flash, it leave a weird reflective non-flattering cast. When I applied a tiny, tiny bit to set my concealer I didn't have any flashback. It doesn't have any scent. At the back it says: absorbs oil for a luminous and radiant matte skin; which it's true. On the webiste says: Use lightly...a little goes a long way: again, also true.

Swatches (on top of the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer).

Before powder (with and without flash):

Right baking, middle with no powder and  left setting (just applied, with and without flash):

Right baking, middle with no powder and  left setting (after 10 minutes, with and without flash):

Right baking, middle with no powder and  left setting (after brush the baking off, with and without flash):

Right baking, middle with no powder and  left setting (after blend and blend where the baking was, with and without flash):

The true magic can be seen with and without flash. If you use this product, use a little, tiny, just a bit and blend, blend and blend. Why? If you take a picture with flash, you can see a white cast where you put it. But if you blend excessively well you cannot see anything: if you bake with this loose powder, make sure that you use a soft brush and blend (and take a picture with flash afterwards to check any flashback, repeat the process until you don't see any flashback). I recommend this process even if you don't bake. Some few words: this process takes a lot of time, something we sometimes don't have.

Price
USA: USD 10.
UK: £ 9.
Australia: AUD 18.95.

I don't recommend this product if you're going to be photographed (using flash) or baking (it leaves a weird reflective white cast; although, I think it's OK for setting the makeup. For those who already have it: have you experienced the "ghost face"? What's your tip for a quick setting makeup without a ghost face (if you're going to be photographed)?

Ingredients: Silica.
